Equitable Life of Canada has launched a new mobile app for Android smartphones.
The EZClaim app enables health and dental benefits plan members to submit their claims via mobile device.
The new Android version is a follow-up to Equitable Life’s 2011 release of a mobile app for iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry devices.
“Mobile technology and how people use it changes quickly. Equitable Life has responded with the EZClaim app for Android to allow more of our customers to submit their health and dental claims using their mobile devices,” said Karen Mason, senior vice-president, Group, Equitable Life of Canada.
According to a recent Ipsos Reid study, Android-powered phones, iPhones and BlackBerry devices account for 92% of the smartphone market.
As well, mobile app use is on the rise. A study put out in April by Quoros Consulting found that 70% of smartphone users say they downloaded apps to their mobile devices in 2012, up from 58% in 2011.
